A licensed private investigator is a trained, state-licensed professional authorized to conduct investigations on behalf of individuals, attorneys, corporations, and insurance companies. In Washington state, PIs must be licensed through the Washington State Department of Licensing.

A PI is not a law enforcement officer. We have no authority to make arrests, carry out warrants, compel testimony, or access restricted government databases. We work within the same legal boundaries as any private citizen — but with professional training, licensed tools, and documented methodology.

Skip tracing is the process of locating a person whose current whereabouts are unknown, using legal research methods including public records, database searches, and other investigative techniques.

Skip tracing is not surveillance, hacking, or unauthorized access to private records. ARGO does not access private financial accounts, medical records, or any data protected under federal or state privacy law. All research is conducted using legally available sources.

An asset locate is a research service that identifies property, vehicles, business interests, and other holdings associated with an individual or entity using public records and licensed research tools.

Due diligence research involves the investigation of individuals or entities to support business decisions, legal matters, or risk assessment. This includes public records, court filings, corporate records, licensing history, and more.

ARGO will not investigate credit history in violation of federal or state law. Credit information may be sourced with the written consent of the subject.

Professional surveillance involves the lawful observation and documentation of a subject's activities, movements, and behaviors in locations where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy.

Washington state law places important limitations on surveillance. Under RCW 9.73.030, Washington is a two-party consent state, meaning audio recording of private conversations requires the consent of all parties involved. Video surveillance in public spaces is generally permitted. Surveillance conducted in any location where a person has a reasonable expectation of privacy is prohibited without consent.

No. Washington state law prohibits the installation of hidden recording devices in locations where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy. This includes residences, bathrooms, changing rooms, and similar private spaces. Violations carry serious criminal penalties. ARGO does not offer this service and will not conduct any investigation that requires it.

Yes — locating individuals is a core investigative service. However, there is an important limitation: we can locate a person, but we cannot force contact. If the individual does not wish to be contacted, we respect that boundary in accordance with Washington state privacy standards.
